About Remediation Cost
Remediation Cost is an independent information and referral site. It collects the cost ranges published by consumer cost guides, EPA and CDC mold guidance, insurance regulator and FEMA statements, and state mold licensing statutes, and shows each with its source and the date it was checked. It does not perform remediation work.
How the site works
Cost ranges are copied as printed from published consumer cost guides (Angi's mold, water damage, flooded basement, fire damage and mold inspection guides), with each guide's update date. Size thresholds come from EPA's mold guidance, health guidance from CDC, insurance lines from the Texas Department of Insurance and FEMA's FloodSmart site, claim averages from the Insurance Information Institute, and licensing rules from the statutes and licensing boards of the states that license mold work. Every source and its checked date is on the methodology page.
What the site is not
Remediation Cost is an information and referral service. It does not inspect, test or remove mold, dry buildings or restore fire damage, and it does not quote prices of its own. It does not handle insurance claims or promise any claim outcome. No phone line is published until a licensed provider has been verified for the area it would serve.
Corrections
If a figure is wrong or a source has changed, email hello@remediationcost.com with the page and a link. Corrections go into the data file and the check date updates with the next build.
