Every location in the guide
Each row is a published range from Angi, How Much Does Mold Remediation Cost? (updated Jul 9, 2026). The ranges are national; the guide does not adjust them by city. Each location page compares its range with the others, works the per-square-foot rate against EPA's size categories and links the matching water damage line.
| Location | Published range | Midpoint |
|---|---|---|
| Whole house | $10,000–$30,000 | $20,000 |
| Wall | $1,000–$20,000 | $10,500 |
| HVAC system | $3,000–$10,000 | $6,500 |
| Attic | $1,000–$4,000 | $2,500 |
| Basement | $500–$3,000 | $1,750 |
| Crawl space | $500–$2,000 | $1,250 |
| Bathroom | $500–$1,000 | $750 |
What sets the price
The guide's per-square-foot rate of $10 to $25 means the affected area drives the cost once the location is known. EPA's line for homeowner cleanup is about 10 square feet (3 ft by 3 ft); EPA calls for limited containment from 10 to 100 square feet and full containment above that. Testing is usually not needed when mold is visible, according to EPA, and the guide prices testing at $250 to $350 when it is done. The insurance guide covers when a policy pays for removal.
Who may do the work
In 5 jurisdictions read for this site, a hired company needs a state license once the job passes a set size or value: Florida (more than 10 square feet), Texas (25 contiguous square feet or more), New York (more than 10 square feet), Louisiana (jobs valued over $7,500), District of Columbia (a contamination level set by regulation). Most of them also bar the company that assessed the mold from removing it. Elsewhere the location ranges above still apply; the license decides who may be hired, not what the work costs.
